OUR TRIP TO BALI

Day 1:
Today 15th of July, we arrived at Uluwatu, Bali. We were very tired, so we decided to explore the hotel. Is called Bulgari Resort Bali, it has got 5 stars and is located in a cliff. Inside we saw some gyms, a lot of amazing pools, and an incredible nature. When we went outside we were fascinated by seeing the views. Near the beach, there were many trees, with lots of colorful flowers. The sand was literally white, and the water was much clearer than in our beaches. We letf our bags in our rooms and we went to spend the evening at the private beach. While we were swimming in the sea, Monica saw a shark. She got very nervous, but the lifeguard told us that this sharks are inoffensives. When the sun went down, we rent some bikes and we took a walk until we found a place to eat. We tried a typical dish called nasi goreng, wich was delicious. Finally, we went back to the resort and we stayed there.

Day 2:
We had breakfast at the hotel´s restaurant. Today we went to the sacred monkey sanctuary, in Ubud. We took a car that the hotel provided us, and we arrived at our destiny after 1 hour and a half. When we bought our tickets they allowed us to enter to the enclosure. As soon as we entered we had the feeling that we were in a thick jungle. The place was full of wet plants and lichen covered statues. While we were eating some sandwiches that we took from the buffet of the restaurant, a little monkey stole Lucia´s sandwich. A woman near us started laughing because she had recorded everything. A few hours later, the woman that recorded the video, recommended us to go to the Ubud art market, so we went there. Approximetaly 5 minutes later, we arrived to the market. There, we bought some souvenirs for our friends and family. After spent the whole afternoon there, we had dinner in a restaurant in which we had reserved a table some weeks before.

Day 3:
We woke up with the sound of the waves. At the breakfast we met some guys that told us they were going to the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple, and it was a great coincidence because it was the same temple that we were interested to visit that day. They took us in their van to the temple. The road was very long, so we talk a lot with the guys to know them. The temple was incredible. It is located on the Bratan Lake, this temple was built 350 years ago and has got gardens near the water and a few meru sanctuaries. This Hindu temple was built in the 17th century in honor to the goddess of the Lake Dewi Danu and this give it the importance that it deserves as Lake Bratan is the main source of water in Bali. We have learned all this because we received a tour of the site. We ate some packed lunch, and our new friends told us that we should went to see the lovina dolphins because the sun was going to set soon. When we arrived, there were a lot of boats next to us. We rode one of them and we were very lucky to be able to see the dolphins with the sunset.

Day 4:
We asked to the hotel´s recepcionist about the trips that the hotel could give to us. She said that recently they added a new activity which consisted of going diving in a cove. It seemed like a good idea, so we went to it. While they were taking us in a boat to the cove, they explained us how to use the diving equipment. Half an hour later we were already diving, and it was a great experience. We saw a lot of different species of fishes and a lot of corals too. When we finished diving we were late, so we quickly ate our salad and returned to the hotel. We had thought about going out to dinner, but we saw some posters around the hotel about a concert that night. We dinner at the buffet and at the concert we had the opportunity to met the singers. We were at the party until very late, so when we got to our rooms, we fell asleep.

Day 5:
We really wanted to go to tegalalang rice terrace, so we rented a car and in an hour more or less, we were there. We didn´t think it would be the same as in the photos but we were amazed to see that it was. To get to the terraces we had to go through paths that crossed some cabins and stalls. The roads were small and slippery but we got there without any problem. Upon arrival we realized that the interior is a long and narrow valley, surrounded by mountains and a dense jungle that is only interrupted by one of the roads that crosses the island from north to south. Walking through the terraces everything changes, the silence becomes remarkable and the tranquility that is breathed in the place makes time stop, a feeling that made us take it even more calmly and enjoy this experience to the fullest. Some hours laters, we went back to the hotel and we spent the rest of the evening in the pools.

Day 6:
Today we woke up very early and sad because it was our last day here. We had breakfast at the buffet and we were practically alone, because it was very early. Then we packed our bags and we check our rooms to see we didn´t forget anything. A taxi took us to the airport and once there we had to wait because our flight was delayed 2 hours. While we were boarding, Blanca remembered that she left her book at her hotel room. So we suppose that now we have a reason to go again to Bali!
